Terms & Conditions EN/FR
Back to practical class information (April 2022) EN/FR
Registration
To join the forró classes In Brussels, you first need to fill in this form: https://forms.gle/8T9Un1fcQFUZ7Sk96
By registering, you accept these terms and conditions and agree to respect the covid measures in force at any given time.
Covid measures
The covid measures currently in force for students are the following:
-
All students must be in possession of a valid Covid Safe Ticket for every class: fully vaccinated, recently tested or recovered. For more information, visit the Covid Safe website.
-
Masks must be worn before and after the activity.
-
All participants must disinfect their hands before the class starts.
-
If you are unwell or have had a high-risk contact, you must stay at home. Catching up on a missed class is not guaranteed but may be possible. (See Flexibility and Advantages below)
These measures may change during the trimester. Any changes will be communicated clearly to you, and you agree to respect these changes.
The terms laid out below under Cancelations and Refunds cease to apply if covid measures prevent the classes from taking place or limit contact between students to such an extent that it drastically impacts the quality of the class.
If this occurs, you will be notified and invited to either a) transfer the value of the remaining classes ('credit') to a future trimester, or b) request a refund of the value of the remaining classes.
Payment
Payment should be made by bank transfer to the following account within seven days of registering.
If payment is not received within seven days of registering, we will make your place available to other students.
Conexao ASBL / IBAN : BE67 3632 0479 1187 / BIC : BBRUBEBB
Communication: First name + Last name + Level X + day of the class
(Replace X with 1, 2 or 3 depending on your level).
Reservation of your place
Your place is only reserved once payment has been received. Some levels may reach full capacity so we recommend paying as soon as possible to guarantee your place.
Late payment
Payment must be made to confirm your place. If payment is not settled by the fourth week of the trimester, we charge an additional administrative fee of 20 euros. If you register after the start of the trimester, the four weeks are counted from the date of registration or your first attendance in class, whichever is early.
Flexibility and Advantages
Catching up on a class
We usually encourage students to catch-up missed classes, but given the current health situation, we are unable to guarantee that you will be able to attend another class to catch-up on a class you miss. If you miss a class and would like to attend another class instead, please contact Sarah to see what options are available at that time.
Flexi-trimester
If you cannot join for the full trimester, there is a flexi-trimester option available which entitles you to 7 classes and is valid for one trimester. When your seven classes are used up, you can continue to attend by paying the teacher in cash at the start of each additional class. Flexi-trimester holders receive a discount on the per class rate: 12 euros per class instead of 14 euros.
The flexi-trimester pass is valid for a single level on a specific day. If your specific circumstances mean a more flexible approach is required, please contact Sarah via email to discuss this. We cannot guarantee that exceptions will be made, but where possible we will do our best to take into account your specific circumstances, as long as this doesn't risk having a negative impact on the other students.
Starting the classes
Initiations & Portes Ouvertes/Open Doors
We may organise free initiations or Open Doors classes in the run-up to the trimester.
Participation in an initiation or Open Doors class does not not guarantee a place for the trimester. Places are only reserved upon receipt of payment, and some levels may reach full capacity for leaders, for followers or for both roles in advance of or shortly after these classes.
To guarantee a place for the trimester, you can register and pay in advance of the initiation or Open Door class. You have 48 hours after the class to notify us via email if you do not wish to continue with the trimester and your payment will be refunded in full. [See below Cancellations + Refunds].
Joining the course during the trimester
-
with some prior knowledge of forró
If you already have some knowledge of forró, it may be possible to join a course during the trimester depending on the current composition of the group (size and balance of leaders/followers). Send Sarah an email in advance and she will arrange for you to attend a Level 1 class where we will dance with you and advise you with level would benefit you most.
There is no free trial class available for students who start during the trimester, all classes should be paid for (this does not include the first Level 1 class if you are allocated to a higher level).
-
without any prior knowledge of forró
If you would like to start learning forró, you can join Level 1 up to and including the third week of class. After this, you must have some knowledge of the basics before joining the group to avoid hindering the other students' learning. Send Sarah an email to enquire as to the possibilities (introduction workshops, private classes, initiations).
There is no free trial class available for students who start during the trimester, all classes should be paid for.
Cancellation and Refunds
Cancellations
You have 7 calendar days after registering to change your mind and cancel your registration and receive a full refund of any payment already made.
Once this period is over, we do not accept cancellations or refunds except in the situations described below.
Refunds
Payments can be refunded or transferred in the following cases only. In any other situation it is not possible to be reimbursed for missed classes, or to transfer them to another trimester.
-
Following an initiation or Portes Ouvertes class:
-
You have 48 hours after the class to notify us via email if you do not wish to continue with the trimester and your payment will be refunded in full. This applies even if the initial registration was made over 7 days ago.
-
-
For administrative reasons:
-
If you register and pay for a level before receiving notification that the level is full, you will receive a full refund.
-
If a group is too small, we reserve the right to either cancel the group or merge the group with another one. If you decide to move to the new group, you have the right to cancel within the 48 hours after the first class in the new group. If you decide not to switch groups, your payment will be reimbursed (minus any classes which already took place in the group that was cancelled).
-
-
For medical reasons:
-
If you can no longer attend the rest of the trimester for serious health reasons, you can request a refund of the remaining classes. To do so, please send us a short explanation and a copy of the doctor's note covering the entire period of absence.
-
If you miss three or more consecutive classes during a trimester for serious health reasons, you can request that the amount corresponding to your missed classes be transferred to your payment for the next trimester. To do so, please send us a short explanation and a copy of the doctor's note covering the entire period of absence.
-
Procedure
In all cases requiring a refund, the following procedure must be respected:
-
Request the refund via email (dance@sarahforro.com)
-
Include all corresponding information (name, level, reason for refund request, bank account details) and documents (doctor's note if required) in the email
-
You will receive a reply within 7 days, and if the refund is granted, the money will be transferred to your account within the next 14 days.
