What is Forró?

Forró is the name of both a musical genre and a dance style from the north-east of Brazil.

It first came to national attention in Brazil in the 1940s, thanks to Luiz Gonzaga, and as a living, breathing culture it has been evolving ever since.

Happy New Year forrozeiros!

Unfortunately, there is as yet no information available on when the covid-19 measures may be relaxed enough to allow our in-person forró classes to resume.

The current trimester is on pause and as soon as the government gives us the green light, we will be in touch with registered students via email.

In the meantime, why not take a look at our online forró courses?

Following the success of our first edition, we're giving you another chance to follow the Forró Icons: Through The Ages online course!

This 5-week course starts on Tuesday March 2nd. Discover the artists who built the forró-verse with lots of dancing exercises to brighten up your Tuesdays - and ours!

We will also be launching an Online Forró Musicality Course very soon...

Meet Sarah and the team

Sarah fell in love with forró while living in Milan and she hasn’t looked back since. Building on her experience in sports and language education, Sarah launched and started to teach forró classes in Brussels in 2014.

She now teaches regular classes in Brussels and Ghent, as well as travelling all over Europe and occasionally beyond to teach at workshops and festivals.

Sarah's classes emphasise the importance of presence, connection with our partner and musicality. She also prides herself on trying to achieve that oh-so-delicate balance between technique and creativity, precision and freedom, focus and fun.

Meet the rest of the team!
